Using a ChefAlarm and Thermapen to temp salmon

  1. I am having difficulty with my ChefAlarm settings. If I am trying to roast a piece of meat, I try to follow the instructions included with my ChefAlarm, but I don’t get the instructions. Is there a movie or better instructions to help me?

    1. We haven’t made one of those yet, I’m sorry. But if you contact out tech support, 1-800-393-6434, they will be more than happy to help.

  2. I never had any difficulty with my old thermometer. I can’t understand the instructions for this at all. I only want to set a final cooking temperature. Don’t get the low/high/ alarm thing. You really need to write better instructions e.g. how exactly do I set an alarm for mestbto be cooked to 60 degrees?

    1. Set the high-temp alarm to 60 by pressing “set temp” twice and then using the arrow keys to get the number to 60. Then make sure the alarm is turned on—under the word “Alarm” it will say “on” or “off” If it is off, press the “alarm on*off” button. ALso make sure the volume oon the unit is turned up loud enough to hear in your kitchen.

The low temp alarm tells you if a temperature drops below a certain point. This feature may seem counterintuitive, as we’re most often looking for doneness. But there are many applications (like making yogurt or cheese from scratch) where tracking the cooling is important. Knowing when things reach a coolenss can be useful just like knowing when things reach a certain hotness.
Sorry the instructions were confucing, I hope this helps clear things up.
